INDIA INDEPENDENCE DAY CRAFTS AND ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS

Our Indian Independence Day Craft mini series continues. As mentioned before these crafts are suitable for Indian Independence Day but also India Republic Day! Today, we have some lovely  Indian Independence Day Decoration Ideas – some fantastic Paper Fan Bunting! We really do love Paper Crafts and are a great fan of Paper Fans (pun intended!). Paper fans are easy to make and look great. And this easy Paper Fan Bunting is no exception!

1. How to make Paper Fan Bunting – India Independence Day Decorating Ideas

INDIA INDEPENDENCE DAY CRAFTS AND ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS

Determine the size for the paper bunting and prepare a colored craft paper accordingly.
Start creating accordion folds along any one side of the craft paper; I created the folds along the width (4 inches side).
Continue to create accordion folds until reaching the other end of the paper.
Take the folded paper and apply craft glue along any one of the 2 ends.

Carefully gather all the folds in the middle; which will divide the folded paper into 2 even parts. Now slowly bring the 2 divided (glued parts) together, to join them.
Once the glued sides are joined, press the glued parts together to make sure that they’re glued nicely. Allow the glue to dry for a while.
Unfold the rest of the folds once the glue is dried. We’ve created a semi circular accordion fold pattern.
Similarly create more of these. Make sure to use all 3 colors when creating the semi circular accordion fold pattern. Also take a long piece of string or a long piece of yarn to attach the patterns and create the paper banner.
Take any one of the semi circular accordion fold patterns, better to start with an orange colored pattern.
Apply glue along the crease of the straight part.
Place the string or the yarn into the crease, along the glued part. Allow the glue to dry, it’ll take about a few seconds.
Continue to attach the rest of the patterns. While attaching the patterns make sure to keep the colors in order- orange, white and green.

You can keep all the semi circular patterns of the same size or create different sized patterns for variation.
Happy crafting!

2. Independence Day bracelet/Indian Flag bracelet:
Tie a knot on one end of the string. Thread the beads onto the string. When you are done tie a secure knot.
In this bracelet i used a small rectangular strip of paper. Glued flag colored foam strips (saffron, white and green) on top.Don't forget to put a blue chakra in the center. This was used as the center bead for the bracelet.
